Roger Jahn, Lead Pastor
and wife Lori
Roger and Lori Jahn have been married since January 2, 1979. They have two adult children and four grandchildren. Roger has a great passion for teaching God’s Word, mentoring men and using his musical gifts in worship. Lori serves the ladies of CCL with her heartfelt teaching style, by her wonderful example of Christ’s love and her many talents (too many to list). She is also a published author of children’s books. Together they have served Calvary Chapel Lakeland and our community for over 25 years.
Charlie Krummel, Elder
and wife Candy
Charlie and Candy Krummel have attended CCL for over 20 years. In addition to being an elder, Charlie oversees church finances and, along with Candy serves in our Calvary Kidz Ministry. Their deep love for God and compassionate care for His people is contagious! Everyone, especially children are naturally drawn to their witness to Christ.
Sean Peterson, Elder
and wife Hannah
Sean is not only one of our elders, he's also our church administrator. His organizational skills are only surpassed by his understanding of God’s Word, and ability to communicate its principles. He teaches from the pulpit in Pastor Roger's absence. Hannah, in addition to being the mother of Pastor Roger and Lori’s four grandkids, is a talented vocalist. She has written many of our original praise songs.
Lowell Boone, Elder
and wife Liza
Lowell and Liza Boone are a blend of tenderness and spiritual maturity, making them the perfect couple to serve as Calvary Chapel Care Group leaders. They also serve in our Calvary Kidz Ministry. The best one-word description of them is “Faithful.” They have attended CCL for more than a decade.
Bill Bucklew, Elder
and wife Kathy
Since making CCL their church home in 2016, Bill and Kathy Bucklew have become a vital part of our ministry team. Bill is a superb Bible teacher who handles our mid-week adult Bible study and leads a Calvary Chapel Care Group. He also fills in on Sundays for Pastor Roger when needed. Kathy is a retired college administrator and offers her abilities as a teacher and organizer in our Ladies in Action Ministry. Both are devoted prayer warriors.

Calvary Chapel Lakeland is a community of believers who are growing together through worship, the study of God’s Word, and service, both inside and outside of our church walls. In 1996, Pastor Roger Jahn, along with
his wife Lori, were living in Navarre, Florida in the panhandle near Pensacola. Pastor Roger had been on staff at then Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze (now Coastline Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze) for five years as Youth and Christian Education Pastor. In February of that year, Pastor John Spencer received a call. A pastor was needed for a small group of people in Lakeland. Pastor John shared the information with Pastor Roger. He immediately knew that the Lord was calling him to answer the call! The Lord confirmed this to Lori and so, on May 30th, along with their two young children, they moved to Lakeland and began their new ministry here.
For the next 9 ½ years Calvary Chapel Lakeland met in two different store-front locations. In November 2005 when the facility they were leasing was sold, they began their search for a new home. They found a church that was for sale and, on Resurrection Sunday 2006 they had their first service in their present location at 1041 N. Davis Avenue on Lakeland’s west side. By God’s gracious hand and the faithfulness of His people the original 30 year note was paid in full in 2021, in just 15 years!
Finding our present location was a direct answer to prayer. We are in the heart of one of the poorer neighborhoods in the poorest zip code in the Lakeland area. Ministry opportunities abound and the body of believers who call CCL their home church are all engaged in serving to reach out to our neighbors with the love of Christ. CCL has grown into a family where God’s love is truly expressed and experienced in fullness.

Calvary Chapel Lakeland is in fellowship with Calvary Chapel Association (CCA) and the movement which began under the leadership of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, California. Calvary Chapel is a non-denomination church movement focused on the inerrancy of the Bible and expository teaching from Genesis through Revelation (line-upon-line, verse-by-verse, precept-upon precept).
